“Thank You and Godspeed”
May 6, 2012 — Everyone changes. People change. Organizations change. Society changes. Life changes. It’s time for me to make a change also.
For over 15 years I have bought you International Peace Meditation messages. Twelve years of monthly International Peace Meditation messages exist on the website of the International Institute For Human Empowerment.( www.humanempowerment.org ) They will remain on this website for many years so that you may go back and read each one, share them with family and friends, and apply the messages to your life. (You can find them in the menu under “International Peace Meditation” and under “News Releases”.)
Clergy can use the Meditations in religious services. Those on spiritual paths may use them as a guide for personal growth. Politicians and leaders may use some for their platforms. Leaders of large organizations can benefit from Empowerment Principles and “The Power-Full Organization” found in Celebrate Diversity! (A Guide for Community, School & Organizational Empowerment by Sue Kidd Shipe, Ph.D., 2010). Schools and community organizations can benefit by celebrating International Unity Day and teaching “Valuing Diversity”. There is truly something for every person.
The Institute website will continue to expand Fibromyalgia resources and Resolutions. All of our Fibromyalgia work will continue. Only one thing will change. I will no longer provide monthly International Peace Meditation newsletters. I will be refocusing my efforts toward our New World Empowerment Center which will be a separate business. If you want to follow me there, you will soon find me at www.newworldempowerment.com You will know me there as “M”.
I grew up in West Virginia. It has been a powerful influence in my life. When I was a child, an event occurred near my home which changed my life forever. Although it was debunked afterward, I never fully believed the debunking. After all, these were my people who had had this powerful experience. At first many people believed the witnesses, but after the debunking following national television appearances, most people today still don’t want to talk about what happened there.
My Dad was a naval pilot, a sub-chaser, in World War II. He was trained. He had a brilliant mind. He saw the unidentified object in the sky, and said that nothing he’d seen nor experienced could have had that trajectory. Although he later debunked part of the story, I remember. This has caused me to follow unexplained events because of a deep personal need to know. I’ve read about unexplained phenomena for years. I find it difficult to believe that so many credible people can be wrong in so many instances. So, my interest and pursuit of truth about many kinds of unexplained phenomena continues.
In this same manner, I have also learned to stay open to my own, and others’, unexplained experiences. Over the years, people have trusted me and told me their stories. I see so often how the fear of ridicule keeps people silent. Frankly, it’s kept me silent, too. I’m tired of worrying about what others may think. My need to know and share is now stronger than my need to fear reprisal from the public, colleagues, and friends.
So, dear Readers, thank you. Thank you for supporting the monthly international peace meditations. I will continue to meditate the first Sunday of each month for as long as I live. I will meditate with you, and for you, and for all people interested and involved in the Institute. I would ask you to do the same for me so that, together, we can keep this spiritual practice alive and growing. At a future point, if there is enough expressed interest, we may publish books of meditations for your spiritual practice and convenience.
The Institute will continue its work with publishing, bringing you new Fibromyalgia information, and all of its efforts to appreciate, value, and celebrate diversity including International Unity Day and related activities. You will receive occasional news releases about activities. Only monthly International Peace Meditation news releases will cease. You will need to check the website frequently to be current with our events. We will try to keep our website user-friendly for you. Bookmark us in your favorites, and please return frequently. For example, we are planning a Fibromyalgia Seminar in the Fall or 2012, and it already appears that we will have ground-breaking information.
The world has changed since we began the International Peace Meditation in 1997. I believe that I can better address, and help others address, these changes through the New World Empowerment Center. Here we will feature curricula, networking, publications, seminars, workshops, conferences, and retreats.
Challenge yourself to stay open, neither believing nor disbelieving. Staying current is not about believing; it’s about staying open to possibilities. If you depend only upon belief, you will “hit the wall” and be unable to learn and expand your spiritual horizons. Meditate to stay grounded. Move to release energy. Come with us to explore new vistas.
I’m not leaving you–I’m inviting you to come with me. If you feel drawn, come along as we prepare “A New Way for a New Day”. (coming by June 1: www.newworldempowerment.com ) You can expect to find us on social media soon as well.
This Meditation is dedicated to all those who bravely seek Truth, not simply as we are told to believe, but as we each experience. It is also dedicated to those who courageously share their stories so that they and others might benefit.
With love for, and gratitude to, each of you,
Sue Kidd Shipe, Ph.D
