"Giving Where It Counts"

Release: Nov. 24, 2009

To our Readers:

We know that this is the season when you may be feeling even more pressured due to the recession and the holiday gift-giving. We also think that you are, however, looking for a cause where your money will be used to help others. We have an urgent need, and if you can help us, we guarantee that 100% of your donation will go directly for this cause.

Recently we published 2,000 copies of our new report: Fibromyalgia: Awareness, Advocacy, and Action Report of the Select Empowerment Seminar on Fibromyalgia which was released on Nov. 5, 2009. We published, 2,000 copies, all that we could afford, thinking that sometime in the more distant future we would publish more copies. What we didn't plan on was the timeliness and the tremendous need for information on this topic! We have only about 400 copies of the Report left after less than three weeks, and that should last us about 1-2 weeks. Unfortunately, we have only begun to reach the physicians, other healthcare providers, patients, families, and caregivers who need this information.

Since the price per copy diminishes proportionately with the increase in number printed, we need to raise $5,000 to print 5,000 more copies. This is an urgent need as patients continue to lose jobs and insurance, as well as face loss of homes and sometimes even spouses in the five-year average time to diagnosis. During this time, if left untreated, the pain becomes chronic and can last a lifetime. However, with early diagnosis and treatment, this process can be interrupted. Currently the cost to human lives and the social security disability system is staggering. We want to interrupt that horrible cycle. We want to restore dignity and hope to those being diagnosed, and those yet undiagnosed. With 10 million people already diagnosed and this number growing rapidly, it has reached epidemic proportions. Research now shows that this syndrome is neurological, but we do not yet know the cause.

Can you please help us? Our need is urgent and immediate. We would like to raise $5,000 in the next three weeks to be able to print 5,000 copies of our report in time for the new year.

I'm grateful for the wonderful feedback I have received from so many of you over the years. Since most of what we do has been online, we have been able to accomplish much of our mission with few resources. Recently, this has changed. We now need to come to you who feel you have been enriched by our messages of empowerment, and ask you for support so that we might reach many more people who are suffering from this often disabling neurological pain syndrome.

Our report has been received as far away as Indonesia. It has reached Florida, Arizona, West Virginia, Washington, D.C., Virginia, Connecticut, New Hampshire and many other areas. Most of the need we have addressed so far has been right here in the Capital Region of New York where the report was developed by physicians, medical researchers, complementary healthcare providers, attorneys, patients, business, and a patient advocate. However, we know that many more can benefit if we can raise funding for printing and mailing. We have long-range plans for fund-raising, but this current need is immediate.

Thank you so much. Please donate by Pay Pal, or by mailing your donations to:

Warmly,
