September 11th -- New Date for International Unity Day
The International Institute For Human Empowerment, Inc., has changed the annual date for International Unity Day from Jan. 1 to September 11. This change marks a powerful way of expressing our desire that, around the globe, we will truly come together as a powerful force for good.
"Forty countries have been directly affected by the terrorism at the World Trade Center. All the world will forever feel the pain of the events in Washington, D. C. and New York City. We can begin to change the world by reaffirming our love and need for humanity to unify. Let's celebrate International Unity Day annually on September 11 to let all the world know that our spirits are alive, and determined as never before to establish and maintain a world of Peace. Let's ensure that those who died did not die in vain," said Sue Kidd Shipe, President of IIHE.
The International Institute for Human Empowerment, Inc., established International Unity Day for January 1, 2000. It was first proclaimed in the city of Morgantown, West Virginia. "But this monumental event, and the shock wave that followed, have truly branded in our minds forever that September 11, 2001, was the day that the world knew it must come together for the safety and peace of us all," said Shipe.

Please join us, from around the globe, in recognizing our need for human kindness to replace terrorism, for peace to replace war, and for love for the human family to overpower hate. "Let this be a testimony to the human spirit, and a dedication to those who were lost."
