"Do You See What I See?"

I wonder as I wander through resorts and villages
If vacationers see what I see.

I wonder as I drive through the valleys and on the hilltops
If the driver of each vehicle sees what I see.

I wonder as I listen to the endless spewing of opinions
Choking our air waves and crowding our intellect.

Do you hear what I hear? Observe the gaps in media coverage
Intended to blind our vision, and take away our freedom?

The essence of our freedom is at risk.
The bigger picture is obscured.
We run as rats in a maze
Never understanding that which controls our movement.

Do you feel that your life has meaning?
Or do you feel a lack of control?
Who is pulling the strings?
And doesn’t want you to know?

What is the real reason for economic shifts?
For changes in diplomacy?
For growing anger and impatience?

What is behind lack of true representation?
Who holds the keys?
Who shifts the power?

What are the unspoken messages behind all the promises?
Why do we shift tax burdens to those without a vote?

Why do we live for now as if we can live forever?
Why do we pollute our planet with no means of global escape?

The gaps are widening: Rich and poor. Educated and ignorant.
Served, and under-served. Healthy, and untreated.

I got mine!
Is that enough?
Legal representation for those who can afford?
Lack of autonomy due to impoverishment?

Will humans ever learn!

Humanity’s wake-up call is here!

This Meditation is dedicated to growing Knowledge within us--
the only source of True Freedom.
